Requirements for filing trade mark applications in Malaysia are as follows:

  1. Full Name and Address of Applicant. For companies, have to stated country of incorporation, and nature of the company (e.g. private limited, public listed).
  2. Description of Goods / Services - following Classification of goods/ services in NICE Classification.
  3. Specimen of the mark - in electronic form (e.g. JPEG, TIFF format) OR in physical form Five (5) copies if the mark to be filed in Black and White, and Twenty (20) copies if the mark to be filed in colors. For marks with non-English words must provided by the English transliteration and translation.
  4. To sign Statutory Declaration by an authorized person of the company / individual and to be notarized by a Notary Public.
Please note that Malaysia adopts a mono class trade mark system.
